Stora Bageriet Östermalm is a bakery and café on Sibyllegatan 2 in Östermalm. Visit Stockholm places it in what it calls Stockholm’s oldest industrial building, a bakery that once supplied the military with fresh bread.

The venue’s own account says the bakery was known as Kronobageriet and made bread for more than 300 years before it closed in 1958. It says production reached as many as 60,000 loaves a day when the bakery was active. People called it Stora Bageriet, the site says, and the name has been taken back for a reopened bakery.

The venue presents the reopening as a continuation of that earlier scale: its website says it is aiming for 60,000 loaves a day again. That is an aim, not a statement of current output. Its account links the present name to the name people used for the former Kronobageriet.

Visit Stockholm lists breakfast, fika and lunch. The bakery’s website invites visitors to buy bread. Visit Stockholm also mentions an outdoor terrace for a drink in the shade.
