Fjäderholmarna is a group of islands about a 20-minute boat trip from downtown Stockholm. The 2026 season ran until 13 September, so the stated summer season has ended by 2 November. Visit Stockholm says boats depart from Strandvägen and Slussen during summer; the Royal Djurgården Administration describes regular boat connections during the summer months.

The islands have restaurants and cafés, artists’ studios and shops selling handicrafts. Visit Stockholm says Fjäderholmarnas Krog serves summer meals and a julbord, a Christmas buffet, and that Rökeriet has a restaurant and café by the guest harbour. The Royal Djurgården Administration also lists craft studios, workshops and a boule court.

The islands were mentioned in a contract of sale in 1381. The Swedish Navy took them over in the early 1920s to build a munitions factory, and Fjäderholmarna became part of the Royal National City Park in 1995.

The Navy’s use left soil contamination on Stora Fjäderholmen, including heavy metals and PAHs. Keep away from cordoned-off areas: contact with soil or dust may pose a health risk. The administration asks visitors to take sortable waste back to the mainland and not leave food scraps for animals or in bins.
