Bullar & Bröd is a bakery and café on Valhallavägen, with bread baked in a stone oven in the same premises as the serving area. Go for coffee, a pastry or a meal built around its bread. Visit Stockholm points visitors to the avocado toast and an espresso served in the same cup as homemade gelato.
The bakery says most of its loaves are sourdough, with varieties including levain, spelt, Danish rye, seeded loaf, baguettes and rolls. The selection changes from day to day. The counter also has buns, cakes and other pastries. Savoury options include sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, flatbreads and salads. Breakfast, lunch, brunch and fika are served seven days a week. Weekend brunch is not offered in summer.
The room has an industrial feel and a five-metre ceiling. The bakery says it prefers organic stone-ground flour from smaller mills, and uses real butter. Co-owner Gabriel di Grado won the Swedish baker championship, Årets Bagare, in 2015.
