Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum in Norrtälje preserves a factory that made hot-bulb engines from 1898 until the mid-1960s. This week, 3 November, its listed 2026 public season is over: regular hours were Saturdays from noon to 4pm, April through October. Groups can book guided visits year-round.
Inside, visitors can explore the factory as it was, hear its engines run, and see the original-furnished business office and workers’ homes set up as they were in the 1940s, with a kitchen garden and flowers. The factory once made engines sold around the world.
Children can play and learn in Varggropen, a former test-running hall covering 500 square metres. The museum also has smaller exhibitions. A café, museum shop and small exhibition are in the factory’s former forge. The museum offers school programmes for all ages and hosts events, meetings and conferences. The supplied information gives no ticket amount or visit duration.
