Frötuna Church stands beside Kyrksjön, about 3 km south of Norrtälje’s built-up area. Its central section is the oldest part of the building and dates to the 12th century. Around 1330, the church underwent major changes influenced by the Gothic style then in fashion.

The interior is mainly shaped by 18th-century fittings: the altar, altar rail, altarpiece and pews date from that period. A copy of a large image of St Olaf, made in the early 14th century, is also kept in the church. The original is held at the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm.

A votive ship dated 1748 hangs in the Löwenska burial chapel. The ship has been described as a warship associated with an unidentified man whose initials were PPS. The church has seating for 250 people. Its address is Rösavägen 29, Norrtälje. Wikidata lists Frötuna Church as heritage-listed.
