Places in our lists are chosen and ranked by the newsroom and by Sweden Herald readers. Nothing you pay changes a ranking, a rating or a review. You can correct your details for free, and you can buy clearly marked visibility.

Sweden Herald Travel lists the best places in Sweden for visitors: hotels, restaurants, cafés, museums, attractions and nature. We choose and rank them ourselves, from open tourism data, awards and heritage registers, what our readers rate and what our editors know. Nobody asks to be listed and nobody pays to be ranked.

If your place is listed, or should be, this page is for you. Correcting your details is free and always will be: opening hours, prices, a new website, a closure or a renovation. Verify your listing and the page says so in its key facts, and you hear from us when a reader reviews your place.

Prices are per month. We invoice by agreement; nothing is paid on this site.

The rules

These rules are written into how the section is built, and they apply to everyone.

  1. Paid never touches the ranking. Payment never changes a place's Herald score, its rank, its ratings or reviews, a "Closed" notice or whether it has a page of its own. A place that does not meet our standard for a page cannot buy one.
  2. Paid is always marked. Anything bought is its own slot: the card above a list, the row in search, the place in "More like this". It is always labelled Sponsored, never numbered in a list, never part of our ranking or review data for search engines, and its links carry rel="sponsored".
  3. Your own words are checked. Texts from a venue ("From the venue", the line on a Featured card) are read by our editors before they appear and may not claim a rating or a ranking.
  4. Reviews cannot be bought, removed or hidden. Reviews come from our readers only. A venue may reply to a review, marked as a response from the venue and checked by our editors; it cannot change one.
  5. Paid ends when it ends. Every arrangement has an end date, and nothing bought stays up by mistake.
