The manor is surrounded by Lake Asasjön, a park and Småland forests. Its main building dates from the late 18th century and houses reception, the restaurant and dining rooms. Guest rooms are in the wings and former farmhand’s house. The hotel has 55 beds: 10 single rooms, 18 double rooms and two double rooms with jacuzzi baths.

The restaurant serves game, fish and vegetables from the surrounding area, according to Visit Sweden. By the lake, guests can use a bathing jetty, sauna and hot tubs. A general manor package is listed from 1,595 SEK per person (about $150/£120), including a shared double room, breakfast and time in the sauna and hot tub. The Christmas package is listed from 1,895 SEK per person (about $180/£140) and includes a Christmas buffet, accommodation, sauna and hot tub, and breakfast.

For a meal in the forest, guests can rent a table and a cook and help gather ingredients and cook over an open fire. Visit Sweden says fishing and crayfish are available in August and September. The venue describes Asa as a designated quiet zone, away from noise from major roads and air traffic.
