Ålshults Handelsbod is closed this week. Its website gives a seasonal closing date of 31 October, with opening hours of 10:00–17:00, and says it is closed from 1 November 2026 to 26 March 2027. The old trading post now brings together a café, shop, tourist information and bicycle rental. It also offers overnight stays in a sleeper car from the 1950s.

When open, the café serves homemade baked treats, waffles and simple meals. Visitors can have coffee on the terrace, which overlooks Lake Åsnen. The venue describes the terrace as a place to plan an outing, and suggests cycling around Åsnen or to Åsnen National Park. It says a bike ride can be combined with a night in the sleeper car. Visit Sweden describes the trading post as a starting and finishing point for trips to the national park, with three bike trails and a canoe trail. It also says the venue holds cultural evenings.

The stated closure period runs through 26 March 2027.
