Bokskåpet is an independent bookshop for children and young adults on the corner of Värmlandsgatan and Tredje Långgatan in Gothenburg. Open since 2006, it has a carefully selected range of new and classic books. Visitors can browse for a book, choose a gift or sit in one of the reading armchairs for a quiet moment.

The bookshop’s calendar includes exhibitions featuring picture-book artists, meetings with authors and illustrators, storytelling sessions and book talks. It also hosts creative activities. Most Saturdays, there is something happening in the shop, with examples including singalongs, storytime and arts and crafts. The activity can vary from one Saturday to another.

The selection and events centre on stories, imagination and creativity. A visit can be a stop to look for a book or gift, a chance to sit and read in an armchair, or a visit timed to coincide with an event. The shop’s programme brings together authors, illustrators and visitors through activities and encounters around books.
