Sörtuttsbadet is a family-friendly swimming area with a sandy beach on Lake Storsjön, a few kilometres south of Sandviken centre. The municipality lists a bathing jetty, boat jetty, toilet and kiosk as services at the beach. Visit Sweden’s national listing also mentions a buoy and sanitation for garbage and sewage. These facilities are listed as services during the bathing season. Dogs and horses are prohibited within the beach area.
Sandviken municipality tests water quality at its municipal bathing places during summer, with samples checked for E. coli and intestinal enterococci. Its guidance says to check the latest test results before swimming. Water classified as unsuitable for bathing is not recommended until new samples show it is safe.
At municipal beaches, diving from bathing jetties is prohibited. Children in the water must always be supervised by an adult. The municipality advises swimming with another person, staying close to shore and not swimming under jetties. It also says not to bathe after drinking alcohol or use inflatable toys in open water.
