Fulufjället National Park is a near-untouched mountain area in the southern part of the Swedish mountain range. The massif rises as a plateau, with steep sides and a flat top. The park has forests, waterways and open views. Reindeer do not graze on the plateau, so thick mats of lichen cover the mountain heath.

Visitors can go to Njupeskär waterfall and hike up the mountain for views across the surrounding area. The waterfall is 93 metres high, with a free fall of 70 metres. Water has carved a large gorge over thousands of years. From the top of the falls, visitors can see into the gorge and across the surrounding area. The park’s description also points to views from higher ground across the open country.

Another site in the park is Old Tjikko, a spruce whose clonal root system is several thousand years old. The park describes it as the world’s oldest tree. Fulufjället National Park was founded in 2002.
