German border controls in place

Germany's new temporary border controls are now in place, in the aftermath of the heated migration debate that began after a knife attack in Solingen at the end of August. Interior Minister Nancy Faeser promises, however, that the control will be carried out so that "people in border areas, commuters, and companies are affected as little as possible", reports the Danish news agency Ritzau.
