Researcher calls for more reading training in upper secondary school after Pisa slump
The Pisa survey's finding that every third Swedish 15-year-old can only read very simple texts indicates that a major effort is needed in teaching. We cannot let 15-year-olds go to upper secondary school without sufficient reading skills. Therefore, schools should continue with basic reading comprehension training even in upper secondary school, says researcher Camilla Olsson.
