The Goncourt Prize goes to Kamel Daoud

The French-Algerian author Kamel Daoud is this year's recipient of the Prix Goncourt, France's premier literary prize. The jury needed only one round of voting to decide that Daoud will receive the prize for the novel "Houris", which takes place during the Algerian civil war in the 1990s.
