China's economy started the year stronger than expected

China's economy had an unexpectedly strong start to the year, official Chinese statistics show. Hao Zhou, chief economist at financial firm Guotai Junan International in Hong Kong, said this could cushion the expected blow from higher energy prices and reduced demand for Chinese exports due to the Iran war
