Police fired tear gas at protest against violence against women
Police have fired tear gas at demonstrators in Calcutta (Kolkata) in India since extensive protests broke out against the authorities' actions in a case of gang rape that ended in murder. The crime took place earlier in August, when a provincial doctor in Calcutta was subjected to sexual violence and then murdered.
