A person suspected of, among other things, gross traffic carelessness after pursuit.
A patrol decides to stop and inspect a vehicle in the Råby area of Västerås. The vehicle does not stop on the police officer's signal and attempts to drive away from the patrol, and a pursuit begins.
The journey continues on E18 in a westerly direction. The car drives off in Hallstahammar and the pursuit continues on RV66 in the direction of Fagersta.
Since the vehicle is being driven in a reckless manner, a decision is made to use a spike mat to bring the journey to a stop. The vehicle misses the spike mat and in connection with a stop attempt, a police officer injures one hand and must seek medical care. The injuries are described as minor.
The patrols lose visual contact with the fleeing vehicle.
The vehicle is later found abandoned on a gravel road between Lillhärad and Surahammar. In connection with this, and in close proximity, several people are found, and a person, a 20-year-old man, is suspected of gross negligence in traffic, gross drunk driving, and unauthorized driving.
