Staff at a car scrapyard north of Hallsberg's built-up area had caught and held two men inside the fenced area. They managed to keep one of the men until the police arrived. The other had left the scene but could be apprehended a short time later after he had been inside Lidl and there stolen meat.

The men had brought a moped to the car scrapyard that turned out to be stolen in March.

The investigative measures on the scene showed that the men may have committed other thefts in the area on Saturday morning, which is why they were arrested suspected of theft and seizure of means of transportation.

After the interrogation, the prosecutor will decide whether the men should be detained or released during the continued investigation.
