To avoid wildlife accidents, it is a good idea to adjust your driving to the prevailing conditions, such as visibility. Be especially alert at dawn and dusk, and take wildlife warning signs seriously.

If an animal of any of the following species—a bear, wolf, wolverine, lynx, moose, deer, roe deer, otter, wild boar, mouflon sheep or eagle—has been involved in a collision with a motor vehicle, you as the driver are required to mark the accident site as soon as possible and notify the Swedish Police Authority.

If you have been involved in a wildlife accident with one of these animals, call 112 immediately. You must also mark the accident site and, if necessary, put out a warning triangle to alert other road users.
