At 05:05 on Wednesday morning, police received an alert about a suspected dangerous object in the stairwell at Segelgatan 1 in Ladugårdsängen in Örebro.

Police are on the scene and the area has been cordoned off. 

Residents of the affected stairwell are being kept indoors until further notice.

The National Bomb Squad has been contacted and will travel to the scene.

Police ask the public not to approach the cordoned-off area. If you need to pass through, you must respect the cordons and follow police instructions.

**Police have launched a preliminary investigation into attempted endangerment of the public. The classification may change during the course of the investigation.
