On Riksväg 26 at Hestra, a bus and a passenger car have collided. Initial reports indicate that it is a serious accident. Both vehicles are in the ditch. Rescue and police are on their way.

Other road users are urged to exercise extreme caution and expect that the road may be closed entirely during the rescue work.

18:28 Riksväg 26 is closed in both directions. The passenger car and the bus have collided head-on. Riksväg 26 is two-lane on the accident site without a central median.

18:46 Traffic will be diverted so that it passes through the community of Hestra.

18:53 There have been a number of passengers on the bus, which is not a bus in regular service. These will be picked up by another bus. Police are working on the site, including conducting interviews and creating a passenger list. A person who traveled in the passenger car is seriously injured.
