An automated traffic safety control, an ATK camera, was sawed down on National Road 76 in Furuvik, and the theft was probably interrupted.
Members of the public called the police and reported that a pole with an ATK camera was lying on the ground beside National Road 76.
Police who went to the scene found that the pole with the speed camera had been sawn through with some type of tool. The camera was still attached to the pole, so there is much to suggest that the perpetrator abandoned the attempted theft.
There is no suspect in the case. A report of attempted aggravated theft has been filed, and the police have examined the crime scene and secured evidence.
The police would be grateful for any observations or tips about the incident.
