Police are on the scene in Svartbäcken in Uppsala with a number of resources to investigate a suspected hazardous object that was found outdoors by the public.

The public in the area is being asked to stay indoors and respect the cordons.

Traffic in the area will be affected as a result of the cordons.

The area that is cordoned off is Svartbäcksgatan up to the roundabout at Sköldungagatan as well as Svartbäcksgatan south towards Stiernhielmsgatan. 
Gamla Uppsalagatan and Egilsgatan in the direction of Swedenborgsgatan.

Police are currently working to contact residents in the area and are urging them to stay indoors.

The cordons have a significant impact on traffic and the bus lines that are in the area.

Police stress the importance of respecting the cordons that have been set up and following the directives given by the external staff that are on the scene.

Police are also in dialogue with the competition management regarding the Uppsala Marathon that is planned for the day.
