Report of aggravated fraud.
A call came in about a man in his 85s who had been called by an unknown person and then tricked into opening a new bank account with a card. Purchases were subsequently made.
Police went to the man, who had contacted a relative and the relevant bank after the incident, and a report of aggravated fraud was filed.
Police would like to remind people never to disclose sensitive information such as codes or use BankID at the request of someone unknown. Anyone who suspects that fraud has taken place is urged to contact the police.
