No major incidents came to the attention of the police during the night.

Caller commendably interrupted assault

22:17 A police patrol was driving on Järnvägsgatan in Jönköping and happened to be in the right place. An assault had just taken place, according to a passer-by who called the police command centre. The information given to the patrol was that a man was hitting a woman who was lying down.

The caller had jumped out of their car and interrupted the incident. The first patrol then arrived at the scene and the suspect was arrested. It is unclear whether the woman, who knows the man well, needed hospital care.

The man, who is in his 25s, is suspected of assault, criminal damage and minor drug offences, personal use. He has now been remanded in custody.

Caller shouted for them to stop

01:10 The police received a call from a person who witnessed an assault on a man outdoors on Fabriksgatan in Jönköping from inside an apartment. The caller intervened by shouting at those involved to stop. The injured party was taken to hospital by the police for documentation and examination.

After investigative measures had been carried out, information pointed to various hotels, but without result. A male suspect was later found at a nightclub and arrested there on suspicion of assault.
