Elderly woman targeted in a fraud.

A woman in her 80s in Nockeby received a call from a man who said he was calling from the bank. He said she was about to be defrauded and that someone had accessed her account and made a purchase for an amount. A fraud report has been filed.

Police advice on how to protect yourself:

Do not let strangers in. Close the door if something feels wrong. The police or reputable companies never come to your home to collect bank cards, codes or valuables. Do not hand over sensitive information or valuables.

Hang up. If someone calls claiming to be from the bank, an authority or a relative who needs help, end the call if you feel unsure.

Do not log in at someone else’s request. Never use BankID or give out codes after someone has called you.

Do not click on unknown links. Do not open links in text messages or emails that you do not trust. Look up official contact details yourself if you are unsure.

Call 112 if a crime is in progress.
