Just before lunch on Wednesday, police, rescue services, and ambulance are alerted to state road 56 where four cars have collided in a series of crashes.

When the police arrive at the scene, it is established that a man in his 60s is pinned in one of the vehicles.

The man is taken to hospital by ambulance with unknown injury status after the rescue services have helped him to get free.
