Summary of last night's events, Jönköping County
Police have handled over 100 incidents between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM in Jönköping County.
Police have, among other things, handled intoxication and mental health issues, and have conducted various routine checks on their own initiative or following reports from the public.
Gislaved, traffic offense:
At 00:53 on the night before Saturday, police were to conduct a check on a vehicle in Gislaved. The driver, however, did not stop for the police officer's signs, but drove away from the patrol. The driver was, however, recaptured by another patrol a few minutes later.
The driver, a man in his early twenties, is now suspected of drunk driving, reckless driving, and unauthorized driving.
Jönköping, assault:
03:30: A patrol finds an unconscious man in central Jönköping. Initially, it is suspected to be a medical condition. An ambulance is called to the scene and takes the man, who is then awake and able to speak. Later that night, information emerges that suggests the man was assaulted, likely by several perpetrators. A report of assault is filed.
Tranås, severe assault.
At 22:50, police are called to a private party. Uninvited persons are said to have entered the party and assaulted a person in their early twenties. The victim is awake when the ambulance arrives and is taken to the hospital for examination. The classification of the offense is severe assault. By Saturday morning, no one has been arrested for the crime.
