The artist Yasin was supposed to play at the festival Brännbollsyran in Umeå on Friday evening. Against the backdrop of media reports about a threat against Yasin and the anxiety these reports have created for visitors and staff, the organizer behind Brännbollsyran has decided to cancel Yasin's performance today.

- We cannot provide any further information about the threat. We have had an ongoing dialogue with the organizer, who has the main responsibility for order and security at the event, and have informed them of our assessment of the security situation. The decision to cancel the performance has been made by the organizer in light of the anxiety caused by the media reports, says Fredrik Jeppsson, deputy local police chief in Umeå.

The police will continue to work to contribute to a safe and secure festival.
