
Warning of a wave of scams: Woman scammed of jewelry worth millions.
Under Wednesday, the Police have been alerted about additional scams that are said to have occurred in Jönköping on Tuesday.
The scammers have first sent SMS about a service being booked. Then the scammers have called and said that "the service" is a scam attempt, and that a police officer will come to collect the victims' valuables.
In two cases, women in their 80s have been contacted, and then received a visit from a person who collected their jewelry.
In a case in central Jönköping that occurred on Tuesday, the scammers have managed to take jewelry that weighs between 500 and 1,000 grams. An estimated value based on the current gold price makes the value of the goods between 500,000 kronor and over 1 million kronor.
The Police now urge citizens in Jönköping and the surrounding area to talk about the phenomenon.
