Police's regional command center has handled around 50 cases related to Jönköping County between 22.00 and 07.00.
Police have handled cases involving wildlife accidents and mental health, as well as conducted various checks on their own initiative or following reports from the public.
Right now, many wildlife accidents are occurring, primarily involving moose and roe deer. Moose calves are being pushed out in May, and are seeking their own territories. Even roe deer bucks are moving around in search of new territories.
During the night, 10 wildlife accidents occurred in Jönköping County. 9 of these involved collisions between vehicles and roe deer.
In one case, a truck collided with a moose. This occurred at 23:30 on county road 195 in Habo municipality. The truck was able to drive away from the scene, and no personal injuries have been reported. The moose was injured but escaped the scene and a tracker has been sent out.
