Police and ambulance are alerted to an address in Västervik due to a woman being found injured outdoors near a balcony.

A police patrol arrives and the woman is taken to hospital by ambulance. A man who is in some form of relationship with the woman is also present at the scene. The circumstances are unclear, and after a closer inspection, the man is apprehended.

The location where the woman was found, as well as an apartment adjacent to the scene, are cordoned off pending a technical investigation.

A police patrol has been at the hospital overnight and spoken with the woman.

The incident is initially classified as an attempted murder. The man, in his 30s, is now detained.
