The past few days have seen three reports of thefts of four-wheelers filed in Jämtland (in Offerdal, Bruksvallarna and Funäsdalen).

A further case has been received by the police, in total it is now about four thefts.

The latest four-wheeler theft occurred in Offerdal sometime between the morning of May 12 and the afternoon of May 13. 

The police are still interested in tips and observations that can be linked to the thefts. If you have seen unfamiliar vehicles or people in the area, please contact the police on the phone number 114 14 or leave a tip via polisen.se. In the event of ongoing crime, call 112.

Advice to reduce the risk of theft:
1. Park the four-wheeler in a garage or a well-lit area. Garage and location can be alarmed, preferably with a camera.
2. Store keys in a safe place, do not leave them right next to the front door or in the jacket pocket.
3. Use enhanced protection with tracking possibility in real-time, for example a GPS puck.
4. Mark the four-wheeler with theft protection.
5. Request a warning on your vehicle via Transportstyrelsen. In this way, organized gangs cannot obtain information about which vehicles are registered at your address.
6. Cooperate with your neighbors, help each other to keep an eye out for unfamiliar people and vehicles.
7. Report to the police if you have been the victim of attempted theft or theft.
