Police sirens sounded at a restaurant on Norra Kungsgatan in Norr in Gävle following reports of an assault.

A verbal altercation is said to have occurred in the queue and subsequently escalated to punches and blows being exchanged.

One person, a man in his 30s, was apprehended and taken in for questioning. The man was later released but remains a suspect in the assault.

An ambulance was called to check on the victim, whose condition is unclear.
