The prosecutor has decided to discontinue the investigation into murder, which was initiated after a man was found dead on a field outside Fjärås in mid-December 2024.
 
Circumstances at the scene made it impossible for the police to rule out the possibility that the man had been a victim of a crime. In an early stage of the investigation, a person was arrested and detained on suspicion of murder. After questioning and further investigative measures, including a preliminary forensic report, the person was released on bail. The suspicions against the person had then significantly weakened. The National Forensic Medicine Board's final autopsy report showed that no crime was behind the man's death. Out of respect for the deceased and his relatives, the police will not comment on the cause of death.
