A person has been called by a scammer posing as a police officer. The victim has then been deceived out of money.

Methods of deception are many when it comes to trying to deceive people, mainly the elderly. This time a person has pretended to be a police officer and this person says 'that someone unauthorized has used the person's Bank-ID' and now the fake police officer is supposed to help and asks the victim to log in to their Bank-ID. In connection with this, the victim is deceived of thousands of kronor.

Remember that:

  • Never identify yourself with bank-id and never give out codes from your bank card or to your payment card if someone asks for it. Serious companies, organizations, and authorities never contact and ask you to log in or give out personal information in that way.
  • The scammer may try to stress you by saying that you are about to lose money or that a relative has gotten into trouble. Do not believe the person who is calling even if they seem credible and have personal information about you.
