Police and Rescue Service were alerted about a fire in a dwelling on Skogsvägen in Vara.
A passerby who saw the house noticed that it was filled with smoke and smelled of fire and alerted authorities.
Rescue Service divers were able to rescue a 65-year-old man from the dwelling, who was taken to hospital for examination. The police will file a report on reckless endangerment.

03:31 Assault, Uddevalla
Two men in their 20s were assaulted by three perpetrators when they were on their way between Kungstorget and Kampenhof in Uddevalla. One of the victims received several blows to the face. The victims contacted the police shortly after the assault and a report was filed.
