
Emergency calls overloaded police patrol
16:15 Individuals who visited Systembolaget on Norra Svedengatan in Linköping felt alcohol fumes from people in line at the cash register. One of these individuals sat behind the wheel of a passenger car.
Thanks to the tip-offs, there was one less drunk driver in Linköping traffic as police patrols stopped the vehicle.
The driver, a 65-year-old man, blew positively in the breathalyzer and was taken in for a body search as suspected of drunk driving. A passenger was also suspected of minor theft at Systembolaget
Traffic Administration estimates that around 15,000 transports per day in Sweden are carried out by someone who is drunk. Furthermore, Traffic Administration estimates that approximately every 500th car you meet is driven by someone who is intoxicated.
