Two people detained by prosecutor after fire in Jönköping.

Today, prosecutors have detained two people suspected of an arson on a parking lot at Junegatan during the night.

Two people were taken to questioning by the police in the morning of 16/6 for the fire on Junegatan that occurred at 23.30. The two suspects were detained around lunchtime by prosecutors.

The suspects are two adult people. Both are suspected of gross vandalism through fire, due to the high value of the damaged goods.

Other details about the two suspects are under investigation secrecy.

The police are still seeking witness statements about the fire last night, as well as about the fires that have previously occurred in Jönköping.

Between 8 June and 16 June, six different fires have been started in Jönköping. Mainly cars have been damaged. The police are now investigating whether there is a connection between the fires. It is too early to draw any safe conclusions about the question.

Now the police are working further with various investigative measures, for example by holding interrogations and analyzing seized items.
