Police were alerted by various callers on the night before Thursday that a man had been assaulted on Fleminggatan. 
The assaulted man is in his 45-year-old age group and was taken to hospital by ambulance. He was awake and able to speak at the time but needed hospital care.
In close connection to the incident, police patrols found two boys in their upper teenage years who were arrested after a check when their description matched that of the perpetrators.

After investigative work, the name of a third suspected perpetrator was found who could be arrested later on Thursday. He is also in his upper teenage years.

The motive for the incident has not been clarified, but the police are investigating whether there may be a hate crime motive. 

The three suspected perpetrators have been detained by the prosecutor and the suspicion is of aggravated assault.
