Police are contacted regarding a person who is alleged to have threatened other people by waving a knife. The incident occurred at a hotel in central Luleå.

Police go to the scene and apprehend the man with the support of the law on apprehension of intoxicated persons (LOB). At the apprehension, the man is carrying a knife and is outwardly aggressive. Police overpower the man with service weapons and ECV (electronic stun gun). OC-spray (pepper spray) is used.

The man, who is in his mid-30s, is suspected of gross violation of the knife law, unlawful threats, vandalism, violent resistance, and threats against a public official.

The man has been interrogated and is no longer apprehended. The suspicions remain.

The vandalism consists of damage to a bicycle and a bicycle stand outside the hotel.
