According to information from the woman, she and the suspected man met up at a dam in the evening. What starts with verbal quarrel then turns into blows, strangulation and suspected drowning. When the man leaves the scene, he takes the woman's bag and mobile phone.

A called police officer finds the man shortly after the incoming calls. He is apprehended and suspected of attempted murder or gross assault.

The suspected crime scene at the dam is cordoned off for technical examination. At 08:12, this is lifted.

The complainant is taken to hospital for check-up.
