A passerby reacts to cries for help and calls 112 to report that a man is in the water in Alvik near the Stora Essingen bridge. 
Emergency services, ambulance, and police collaborate on the rescue operation. The ice on the scene is very thin but by 18:25, the emergency services have managed to pull the man onto land where he is taken care of by the ambulance and taken to hospital. 
The police cannot answer questions about the extent of the injuries without referring to the healthcare system. 
It has not been established how the man ended up in the water but there are no suspicions of a crime.
