Warning for elk on E18.

Police are currently receiving several calls about a moose being located on E18 near Grillby between Enköping and Bålsta.

Police have contacted the Swedish Transport Administration, which will issue a warning.

Update, 13:38

The calls continue to come in that the moose is still on E18.

Police are urging drivers on the stretch to reduce their speed and be vigilant.

Update, 14:39

Both police and wildlife officials are on the scene to search for the moose, which is still supposed to be on or near E18.

The earlier warning remains in place.

The moose was last seen near traffic point 144.

Update, 14:53

Car collision with moose on E18. The collision is believed to have occurred in the direction of Stockholm.

No one is reported to have been injured in connection with the collision, and the moose is said to have run off after the accident.

The speed on the stretch is still high. Therefore, the police will issue another warning and urge drivers to reduce their speed.
