At the beginning of the week, a larger operation was conducted in a border area near the border with Norway west of Sälen.
The police, together with personnel from Customs and Norwegian police, conducted a control of over 300 vehicles. The cooperation with Norwegian police on Swedish soil is possible thanks to a decision that gives Norwegian police full authority to operate within Sweden's borders. Through this, such interventions can have immediate access to information about Norwegian citizens being checked in Sweden. Through cooperation with Customs, the possibility of a more comprehensive control of suspected vehicles and individuals is also expanded. During the operation west of Sälen, most drivers were sober, one person is suspected of drunk driving. Otherwise, a few orders were issued and a number of so-called intelligence notes were set up.
