A 65-year-old woman had missed the exit to Arlanda when she was driving from the Stockholm terminal.

She then chose to turn back on E4 via a so-called disaster overpass, an opening between the roadways used by professional drivers.

A 40-year-old man did not notice the woman's vehicle in time and drove into her.

Both drivers complained of pain and the woman was given a ride to the hospital by a helpful police patrol.

No one has yet been notified of suspicion of a crime, but the police are still working on the scene.

The vehicles have been moved from the scene by a wrecker and are not obstructing traffic.

Remember that it is never allowed to turn back on a motorway via disaster overpasses, but it is even more dangerous in the current weather conditions with ice, darkness and snowfall that impairs visibility.
