Police urge all those who venture out on the roads to take extra care today. Heavy snowfall combined with strong winds has formed snowdrifts on many roadways. At the same time, the snow is impairing visibility. Be careful about yourself and others. Adjust your speed according to road conditions, visibility, and other circumstances.

Drive carefully if you pass an accident where rescue services, police, ambulance, or towing services are working – those working on the scene are in a precarious situation.

Several accidents have occurred on E4 during the morning, but other roads are also affected. No serious personal injuries have been reported in the accidents that have occurred.

Linköping, 10:48: A SOS alarm is sounded for a single-car accident in the northbound direction on E4 near Rystad in Linköping. A car has slid into the median strip. A patrol is on the scene with blue lights on to alert other motorists – but reports that it is barely visible due to the heavy snowfall.

Norrköping, 10:42: A car slides and drives into the median strip on national road 51 near Sväringe in Norrköping. The driver can turn the car around and drive away.

Linköping, 10:30: A SOS alarm is sounded for a traffic accident on E4 near Törnevala in Linköping. A car is said to have slid and driven into the median strip and is stuck in an inconvenient position on the road. When emergency personnel arrive at the scene, the car is no longer there.

Linköping, 8:51: A SOS alarm is sounded for an accident on E4 near Kallerstad in Linköping. A car has driven into the roadside ditch and then into the ditch in the southbound direction. Rescue services are blocking the road during the time the car is being towed. No one is seriously injured.

Mjölby, 7:40: A SOS alarm is sounded that a car has driven in the wrong direction and driven into a ditch on county road 636. The car is almost completely covered in snow. A tow truck is ordered and the driver is escorted to their home address by a patrol.
