January 1, 08.30, Summary of the night, Västerbotten County

Since midnight, seven people in Umeå have been taken into custody in accordance with the Law on the Taking into Custody of Intoxicated Persons (LOB). Six people have been taken into custody in Skellefteå, where one person was also taken for testing due to suspicion of narcotics influence. Four people have also been taken into custody in Hemavan, Storumans municipality, of whom one is suspected of violence against a public official. Two people have been taken into custody in Lycksele.

00:24 Assault, Umeå
Police are ordered to the center due to an assault. One person is said to have been assaulted. A report is filed. 

00:26 Traffic offense, Dorotea
Police stop and inspect an A-tractor. A fine is issued as the vehicle has too many passengers.

00:45 Theft after traffic accident, Umeå
Police are contacted regarding a man who claims to have been knocked down by a vehicle, causing him to fall. A report of theft after a traffic accident is filed. The incident is said to have occurred in the east of the city. The man is left at home. 

01:36 Traffic control, Robertsfors
Police have conducted a traffic control on county road 739 Ånäset. All drivers were sober. 

01:43 Assault, Skellefteå
Police are contacted regarding a ongoing fight at Prästbordet. Several people are said to be involved. Police file a report of assault. Two intoxicated young people are handed over to their guardians. 

01:59 Assault, Umeå
Police are alerted to an assault at or near a bar in the center. Three men are said to have been involved. A report and counter-report of assault are filed. 

02:16 Assault, Umeå
Police are ordered to a bar in the center where several people are said to have fought. A report of assault is filed. Two men are taken into custody in accordance with LOB, the Law on the Taking into Custody of Intoxicated Persons. One is suspected of assault and violent resistance. 

02:47 Drunk driving, Robertsfors
Police stop and inspect a vehicle in Robertsfors municipality. The driver blows positively in the breathalyzer and is taken for further testing. A report of drunk driving is filed, driver's license and car keys are taken into custody. 

02:55 Assault, Skellefteå
Police are alerted to an assault at or near a fast-food restaurant. One person is said to have assaulted another. An interview is held and a report of assault is filed.

03:11 Assault, Umeå
Police are ordered to a hotel due to a disturbance. A young man is said to have been subjected to assault. A report is filed. 

04:44 Unlawful entry, Umeå
Police are ordered to Östra station in Umeå where a man is said to have entered a café illegally. He is removed from the scene and a report of unlawful entry is filed.
