Under the morning, police rushed to Ånestadsskolan in Linköping after someone spotted a suspected man in the area. There are also reports that the man was wearing some kind of weapon-like object. He then disappeared from the scene.

As a result of this, the police deployed a larger resource to check the area. They have, among other things, worked with a dog patrol near the school to secure any possible tracks. The police have also carried out various identity checks in the surrounding area.

After a period of work on the scene, a larger part of the police resource was able to leave the area. Several patrols remained longer in a security-creating sense. No one has been arrested or suspected of a crime as a result of the incident. A report will be filed regarding a serious weapons offense. However, it should be added that the police did not find anyone with a weapon.

The police were finished at the scene around 12:00.
