The police have apprehended a woman in her mid-twenties who is suspected of having assaulted a man indoors in Avesta.
Police were alerted early on Friday morning to an apartment in Avesta where it was reported that a man had been assaulted by a woman. When the police arrived at the scene, they found the assaulted man and some witnesses. The woman who was reported to have assaulted the man had however left the scene.
A short while later, the suspected woman returned and the investigative measures at the scene led to the patrol being able to apprehend the woman as a suspect for severe assault. She had, among other things, used a weapon to assault the victim. The victim was later taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries that were not deemed to be life-threatening.
After the interrogation, the prosecutor will take a stance on whether the woman should be detained or released during the ongoing investigation.
